LUTHIER:
I started playing guitar at 16 and that same year got to meet a Luthier whom inspired me to make my own guitar. So after much reading and research over a year and once I finally drew my plans I came to make my very first guitar from scratch, that first one was a replica of a LTD guitar I had my eyes on for a bit. It worked and even played several live shows with it with my band from back then.I quickly realized how amazing this felt and how better I could make the next one, so I designed my own style with a couple of original features and managed to make my great “Creature of Fire” back in 2005. I’ve since had the idea of making 7 guitar models (shapes/characters) declined in 7 styles (finishes/elements), slowly working toward the goal of making those 49 guitars and basses.
I’ve since always struggled in having a space and more so the proper tools to make that goal a success, so over the years I’ve mostly repaired and upgraded guitars as well as making some fun and quick projects like cigar box mandolins and other Oddities.
I make those guitars mostly because I love wood carving, I love making beautiful shapes to the eye but also to the touch… I can’t stand most guitars out there that just feel like plastic and are flat like a chopping board. My guitars are delightful for all senses !
Also my goal is to create unique instruments that have a special character, a special sound and that no one else will ever have, just as you are a unique Artist, I want to create something out of the ordinary to hopefully make you become a better Artist yourself, inspired by those instruments, those tones and themes.
The next currently underway are Creature of Earth, Creature of Metal and Creature of Air… which can be bought as Pre-orders right now !
My rate as Luthier is 120$ an hour but mostly Task based pricing.
- Self taught at 17, building original and from scratch. Creating three new, original designs later on.
- Created officially the Business in 2014 and sold two custom guitars on the first year (the Wizard of Aether & the Wizard of Wood)
TEACHER:
As my first Winter in Canada arrived back in 2008, I got the opportunity to become a certified Snowboard teacher, a dream come true since snowboarding as been my favorite sport since the tender age of 9. So being able to share my passion, teach it and being paid for it was so wonderful!
When I officially became a Canadian Permanent Resident, my first gig as a Freelance Artist was to teach groups of teenagers a complete Promotional course spanning from Photography > Graphic Design > Printing. Hired then by the city of Montreal, that amazing contract was a beautiful statement to the quality of my work and my work ethics, since I had never studied any of these fields and only had my Portfolio to show for, yet they loved it and so began my “Teacher” beginnings!
My rate as Teacher is 120$ an hour.
- Hired as Photography Teacher by the city of Montreal, Le Taz Skatepark, Lez’art Association.
- Hired as Snowboard Teacher by Mont-Saint-Sauveur, Mont-Avila, Ski Chantecler and Big White Ski Resort.
- Hired as Farm Decor Supervisor/Lead by Shambhala Music Festival
- Hired as Sound & Light Technician, later as Trainer by Bloom Nightclub / Shambhala Music Festival
